Privacy policy
This policy describes what TumBite collects, why, and what you can do about it, in plain language. TumBite is built by a small team; we don't run ads, and we don't sell your data — full stop.
What we collect
- Your email address — used to sign you in (via a one-time code, or Sign in with Apple) and to reach you about your account. We never use it for anything else.
- Meal photos — the photos you take of your food inside the app, so TumBite can identify and score what's on the plate.
- Self-reported wellness notes — anything you log about how you're feeling, when, and any optional note you attach. This is entirely what you choose to type; we don't infer it from anything else.
- Basic device info — only what's needed to deliver push notifications you've opted into, and to keep your account signed in on that device. Our servers also keep short-lived technical logs (like IP addresses) to run and protect the service.
- Crash and error reports — if the app hits a bug, a technical report (device model, OS version, what went wrong — never your photos or notes) goes to Sentry, our error-tracking service, so we can fix it.
How your data is processed by AI
Meal photos are sent to exactly one third-party AI provider — Anthropic — to identify food items and produce an informational score. Anthropic does not train its models on data sent through its developer API. When a second provider (DeepSeek) is configured for day-to-day pattern narration, it receives only text derived from your logs — food names, dates, and the numbers behind your patterns — never your photos. Both providers process what they receive solely to return a result to TumBite, and TumBite does not share your photos or logs with anyone else.
What we don't do
- We don't run ads, and we don't have an ad SDK in the app.
- We don't sell or rent your data to anyone, ever.
- We don't use analytics trackers on this marketing website.
- We don't share your wellness notes with anyone but the AI providers above, and only to generate your own patterns for you.
How long we keep it
We keep your data for as long as your account exists, because the whole point of TumBite is patterns over time — deleting old entries would make the app dishonestly confident about incomplete history. The moment you delete your account, everything goes: meals, photos, logged notes, and your account record itself.
Deleting everything
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the app under Settings → Delete account. No support request needed, no waiting period. This is a hard requirement we hold ourselves to, not just an App Store checkbox.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, at any time — write to hello@tumbite.app. Deleting your account (above) is the fastest way to exercise this yourself, instantly.
Children
TumBite is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
