Not a health app — read this first
"TumBite is a food journal, not a medical device or health app. It doesn't diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. Its scores and patterns are informational, based only on what you log. Always talk to a doctor about health concerns."
What this means in practice
TumBite helps you keep a photo-based food journal and notice patterns between what you eat and how you feel afterward. Nothing it shows you — a score, a "possible lead," a pattern card — is a diagnosis, a treatment, or medical advice of any kind. It is a record of what you logged, and honest statistics run on that record.
You will see a short reminder — "Informational, not medical advice." — underneath every score and every pattern in the app. It's there because it's true on every screen, not as a one-time disclaimer you can dismiss and forget.
App Store category
TumBite is listed under Food & Drink, not Health & Fitness or Medical. That's a deliberate choice, not an oversight: this app does not claim to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, including IBS or any other digestive condition.
How we talk about what you log
We avoid clinical language on purpose. Where a clinical app might say "elimination protocol," TumBite says "try skipping X for a few days." Where one might say "challenge," TumBite says "try reintroducing X." What you log as how you're feeling is just that — your own notes, in your own words, never reframed as a clinical symptom log.
If something you log looks urgent
If a note you log mentions things like blood, unexplained weight loss, fever, symptoms that wake you up at night, vomiting, or trouble swallowing, TumBite excludes that entry from all of its pattern analysis and instead shows you a plain message encouraging you to see a doctor promptly. These are exactly the kinds of things a pattern app has no business trying to explain — they deserve a real clinician, quickly.
